Child sex trafficking could be happening right in front of anyone and you may not know it. Lets say there’s a child that’s not receiving the love and affection that they deserve, for whatever reason. Eventually, he or she will begin to gravitate toward someone who will give them the love they need. Now, here’s where it gets really sticky. Gee, little Lisa (or Billy) seems to be spending a lot of time with Mr. Jones (the life long neighbor) next door. Or, Lisa keeps going to her friend Suzie’s house. Sometimes I think she’d rather live with them. Or, Billy sure does like staying over at coach Smith’s house with the team. Problem is, maybe Mr. Jones is a closet trafficker. Could be that Coach Smith is actually a pedophile and his coach’s position gives him access to little children. Who knows what little Suzie’s parents are into. Yes, I know, probably not but you don’t know do you. These scenarios are just that, scenarios but the point I’m trying to make is, you don’t really know. These are some of the ways pedophiles and traffickers Groom children. Does your child come up with money he or she can’t explain? Is he or she a little too fond of or obsessed with their 3rd period English teacher? My fourteen year old is becoming too aggressive and I think maybe drugs are a problem but where would they be getting them from? Here’s the deal, kids are at risk! They find these kids and shower them with gifts, affection, in some cases drugs and alcohol but mostly attention. They appear to give them the love and affection they think they’re not getting at home. These are just a few of the ways it can happen. Why do you think most kids run away? They think they are running toward a better life but they soon find out it’s out of their hands from then on. Unfortunately, this won’t stop on its own. Until people stop burying their heads in the sand and hoping it will somehow magically disappear, It’ll go on and on. Did you know, drug cartels are figuring out that they can make as much money trafficking children as they can drugs? This is going on in every aspect of our lives. Government, Hollywood, the music industry, local towns and big cities alike. It does not matter. It’s there. Case in point, why is the current administration only concerned about the children at the southern border? I urge you to do your own research. Child sex trafficking can only be stopped if we the people get involved and make it stop. Stand up. Contact your local Sherriff’s Department and ask what programs they have in place and what can you do to get involved. If there is no program, start one. Make people listen! Recognize that there is a problem and do something to fix it. Remember, it could be happening right under YOUR nose too.
